New products: audio extenders

What you need to know about the audio extenders

The trivum audio extenders are professional solutions for transmitting audio signals over large distances using standard network cables. A transmitter and a receiver are used. One of the two devices must be supplied with a power supply.

The trivum audio extenders actively transmit the audio signals symmetrically and electrically isolated. They have the following characteristics:

  • up to 300 meters
The active symmetrical transmission of signals (audio + trigger + power supply) is the basis of the trivum Audio Extender solution.
  • Interference-free
Due to the symmetrical audio transmission, interference caused by interference in the cable route is minimized. This elaborate technical solution is now standard in many studios due to its advantages.
  • Hum-free
The active galvanic separation of transmitter and receiver means that there can be no hum loop due to potential differences.
  • Neutral sound
In contrast to the solution using passive galvanic isolation using transformers, the trivum solution is better in terms of sound, because transformers change the sound and cut or distort the frequency response. The OP-Amps used in the active trivum extenders are technically far superior to the passive solution.
  • No time delay
In contrast to products that work via IP networks, the trivum solution has no delay. IP solutions (radio or cable) have to digitize the audio signal, then transfer the data in packets over the network, then reassemble them in a buffer in order to convert them into an audio signal. That takes too long to e.g. transmit TV sound lip-synchronously.
  • With trigger signal (XT:LINE)
A trigger signal is transmitted potential-free from the XT: LINE transmitter to the receiver. The voltage is adjusted to 12V. The trigger input reacts with high resistance to voltages between 5V and 24V. The trigger signal is then available at the receiver with a load capacity of 12V / 80mA.
  • Ground lift switch (XR:LINE)
Ground lift prevents hum loops as it separates the signal ground from the transmitter and receiver. Ground lift should therefore be active by default. In rare cases it can still be helpful not to activate the ground lift: If excessive disturbances are not produced by ground loops. These disturbances (whistling, buzzing, rattling) are caused by unclean switching power supplies or plug-in power supplies without grounding.
  • Unproblematic placement
In contrast to passive Galvian separation by means of transmitters, the trivum solution is not magnetically susceptible to interference. Therefore, the adapter can be placed anywhere, including in the area of power supplies.

The following products are part of the Audio Extender range:

  1. XT:LINE
  2. XR:LINE
  3. Audio Extender power supply

 trivum_XT_Line_3D_Back_c

The trivum XT:LINE is an audio transmitter with analog inputs. & nbsp; In connection with the optionally available XR: LINE you can, for example, control the sound from a television or CD player to the technical room using a CAT cable. There the trivum XR-LINE receiver gives the audio signal then to an amplifier or multiroom system. If the source or a control unit provides a trigger signal, this signal is passed on to the receiver.

  • Extends analog audio signals up to 300m using standard network cables
  • Ground lift switch to separate the signal ground
  • Trigger input for any DC / AC voltages between 5-24V
  • LED to display the operating status
  • Requires a trivum XR-LINE adapter as an audio receiver for operation
  • Only one power supply unit has to be used. This can be plugged into the receiver or transmitter. & Nbsp;

trivum_xr_line_front_c

The trivum XR:LINE  is an audio receiver with analog outputs. In connection with the optionally available XT:LINE you can, for example, transmit the sound of a TV or CD player to the technical room using a CAT cable. There the trivum XR-LINE receiver forwards the audio signal to an amplifier or multiroom system. If the source or a control unit provides a trigger signal, this signal is passed on to the receiver.

  • Extends analog audio signals up to 300m using standard network cables
  • Trigger output with 12V and 85mA power
  • LED to display the operating status
  • Requires a trivum XT-LINE adapter as an audio transmitter for operation
  • Only one power supply unit has to be used. This can be plugged into the receiver or transmitter

Netzteil_XR_XT_15v_trivum

The trivum Audio Extender power supply is a standard 15V / 18W power supply.

  • Only one power supply unit has to be used. This can be plugged into the receiver or transmitter.
